A friend of mine told me about the picture. It's a wooly bugger varient that I tyed to fish Northgate Dam in NW North Dakota. The water usually has a tea stain to it which is why I stuck the white calf tail wing on it. Crystal chenille is a staple ingredient for trout patterns on prairie reservoirs.
Hook: size 6 3XL
Tail: brown marabou and a few strands of crystal flash
Body: olive brown crystal chenille
Hackle: brown saddle hackle
Rib: gold wire counter wound over the hackle
Wing: white calf tail
Here is a better picture.
