My name is Marc Payne and I am a fly angler in the southeast (Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, North Georgia). I have been at the craft for roughly fifteen years, tie my own flies (many are my own creations), build my own rods, teach for Orvis, some guiding, am moderator on a regional fly fishing forum, and own a blog that has a readership in 51 countries with an average monthly readership of around 1800 people.
The flies I tie are both for the area tailwaters as well as patterns that are very productive in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My specialty is in wet flies, nymphs, and streamers. Though my main focus is on trout flies, some of my streamer patterns have been productive on smallmouth as well.
