Born and raised in Kamloops British Columbia, I grew up fishing the famous trophy trout lakes of the BC Interior. About 15 years ago those rainbows really got under my skin and what started out as a hobby turned into a real passion. Since that time I have continued to learn as much as possible about these magnificent creatures with a focus on Entomology (the study of the bugs that fish eat) and fly tying (to successfully imitate those bugs). As they are the most abundant food source for the trout in my area I have gained a vast amount of knowledge tying and fishing chironomids but am also quite experienced tying and fishing all other food sources. A bit unorthodox in my fly tying style my patterns may not be as appealing to the human eye as those of traditional tiers but the fish don’t seem to mind!
