I began angling for trout with my Dad at the age of five and my passion has grown ever since that first cast. The game species I now pursue have expanded to striped bass, bonefish, tarpon, and my favorite of all, the Atlantic Salmon. As a teenager, my Dad and I fly fished for striped bass in the surf and off the jetty’s in New Jersey before it became fashionable to fly cast to stripers. I am a fly tyer and a volunteer instructor for Casting for Recovery. I have a 4 year old Newfoundland named Gillie who is my constant fishing companion. Residing in Western Massachusetts I fish regularly on my local waters and in the many rivers, and streams in the states of Connecticut, Vermont, and Rhode Island & New York.
A competitive fly angler for over 20 years, and presently the team Captain for World Fly Fishing of Japan team, competed in the America Cup International Fly fishing Tournament in Colorado, as well as many other qualifying competitive events.
From later summer to fall, I can be found in my pool on the Miramichi River angling for Atlantic Salmon, a passion that I have had for over 40 years, and in the Atlantic Ocean casting to stripers, and Bonita. During the winter months, you can find me casting to bonefish and tarpon in South Andros, as well as many of the other out islands in the Bahamas.
